HOW TO GERMINATE CORIANDER SEEDS?

Coriander can be grown in any season. But rainy and winter seasons are the best season to grow the Coriander. Coriander grows well at temperatures between 10 and 29 degrees C. If temperatures exceed 29 degrees C it will start to bolt. (Bolting is the production of a flowering stem and they prematurely run to seed)
It germinates in all season, but it germinates well in the rainy and winter seasons. If we had good water resources we can grow in summer also.
Soaked seeds will give the better result. Soak the coriander seeds in the clean water overnight.
Coriander seeds will take 7 to 10 days to germinate from the sowing. You can observe in the coco disc after sowing the seeds.
Coriander is a outdoor plant. But we can grow it indoor also. In case you are planning to grow indoor, place it where it can get at least five to six hours sunlight everyday.

HOW TO TRANSPLANT CORIANDER Plant?

Once your coriander seedlings are two to three inches in length (usually 3-4 weeks), it's time to take them out of their small indoor pot to deeper and spacious pots or your home garden outdoors that receives 6 to 8 hours of good sunlight.

Coriander seedling can be transplanted after its two "true leaves" first come out. True leaves are the leaves that grow after the initial seed's cotyledon leaves come out. Not all plants have prominent cotyledon leaves. So transplant after you see at least two sets of leaves (four leaves) grow.
Multiple Coriander plants can be grown in large containers, ensure adequate space of 6 to 8 inches between each hole for each seedling. Start with large clean pots. Mix together a well-draining type of soil and compost(if available).
Repotting or transplanting is very easy with Netted Coco Disc Pellet:

Simply dig and transplant the whole coco disc into the ground or re-pot it in a big container, without the hassle of coiling and tangling of roots. The netted cloth will disintegrate all by itself.

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PLANT?

Watering depends on the weather. If you are using good quality potting mix then water the plants only when the top surface is completely dry. You can easily test the moisture in the potting mix by just inserting your finger into a corner of the pot.

But in usual cases:
Winter: Water once every 3 days
Summer: Need regular watering. Water daily once or twice depending on how intense is the weather.
Coriander plant is susceptible to a number of diseases like Powdery mildew, Wilt, Stem rot and Blight disease.

Use Organic insecticides like neem fertilizer to ward off the common pests and diseases of the coriander plant. Also, frequent checks of the plant are another way to save the plant from some common problems.

HOW TO HARVEST?

Coriander will take 45 days to harvest from seeding. Till that we have to take care of the plants by watering them properly, providing the potting mix, applying the Neem oil and protecting from diseases.
Coriander is an annual herb that is ready to be harvested as soon as the leaves are large enough to use.

To harvest coriander at home:
Using scissors, snip off whole stems right next to the base of the plant.
In general, it's best to work from the outside stems in, because the outside stems are the oldest.
Coriander that is cut back entirely will eventually grow back. If coriander is grown under ideal conditions with regular harvests, the same plant will keep producing for many weeks.

You can harvest coriander as many times as you'd like during the growing season. Coriander does have a short life cycle, so don't be surprised if it bolts when the weather starts to warm up.

How to Use Coco Disc Pellets ?

Grow Plant using Seed Starter Kit

how to use coco disc pellet

Step by Step Guide

  • Soak the Coco Disc Pellet (Expanding Seed Starting soil) in luke-warm water (room temperature). Let it soak for about 7-10 minutes until the soil has fully expanded.
  • Place 4 - 5 seeds (of the same variety) gently into the soil. Gently cover with appx. 1/4" of the soil.
  • Place the expanded soil packs in a warm area inside your home (preferably next to a window sill). Make sure to keep the soil moist at all times - not soaking wet. It's important to check the soil's moisture daily. The key here is to keep the soil moist (NOT soaking wet) to allow the seeds to germinate successfully.
  • Once you start seeing the roots of the plant extending from the soil, then it's time to plant it in a larger container or directly into your garden.
